Votatec Weather-Resistant GFCI Receptacle

Provide reliable ground-fault protection with the Votatec Weather-Resistant GFCI Receptacle. Available in 15A and 20A models, this self-testing receptacle monitors its protective function and uses LED indicators to communicate power, protection and end-of-life status.

The tamper-resistant shutters help prevent foreign objects from being inserted into the receptacle slots, while weather-resistant construction uses enhanced corrosion-resistant components for demanding moist and humid environments.

Choose from 15A or 20A ratings and White or Black finishes to match the electrical circuit and surrounding wiring devices.

LED Status Indicators

Green Indicator: The GFCI is powered, properly reset and operating normally.

Red Indicator: Indicates a fault condition or unsuccessful internal self-test. Follow the supplied instructions to test and reset the device.

Flashing Red Indicator: On supported models, a flashing red light indicates an end-of-life condition and the receptacle must be replaced.

Important: The LEDs are status indicators. They are not intended to illuminate the surrounding area as a night light.

Tamper-Resistant Protection

Built-in safety shutters help block access to the internal energized contacts unless a compatible plug is inserted correctly. This feature helps reduce the risk of foreign objects being inserted into the receptacle slots.

Weather-Resistant Construction

Weather-resistant materials and corrosion-resistant components provide greater durability in moist, humid and temperature-changing environments than an ordinary indoor receptacle.

Weather resistant does not mean waterproof. When installed outdoors or in a wet location, the receptacle must be installed in a suitable electrical box with an approved weatherproof cover and gasket as required by applicable electrical codes.

LINE and LOAD Connections

LINE terminals receive incoming power from the electrical panel. The GFCI receptacle itself is protected when the LINE terminals are wired correctly.

LOAD terminals may be used to provide GFCI protection to compatible receptacles located downstream on the same circuit. Incorrect LINE/LOAD wiring may prevent the GFCI from operating correctly.

Testing the GFCI

  1. After installation, restore power at the circuit breaker.
  2. Press the RESET button fully.
  3. Confirm that the green status indicator shows normal operation.
  4. Plug in a lamp or compatible test device and confirm that power is available.
  5. Press the TEST button. The GFCI should trip and interrupt power.
  6. Press RESET again to restore normal operation.

Test the GFCI regularly according to the supplied instructions. Replace the device if it fails to trip, cannot be reset or displays an end-of-life warning.

Before Ordering

  • Select the correct 15A or 20A model for the branch circuit.
  • A 20A receptacle must be installed only on a compatible 20A circuit.
  • Wire size must comply with the circuit rating and applicable electrical code.
  • This device requires line, neutral and ground connections.
  • Do not confuse weather resistance with waterproofing.
  • Outdoor and wet-location installations require a compatible weatherproof box, cover and gasket.
  • A wall plate and weatherproof cover are not included unless specifically stated in the selected package.
  • Confirm applicable code requirements for the intended installation location.

Installation Notice

Turn off power at the circuit breaker and verify that the circuit is de-energized before installation. Carefully identify the LINE and LOAD conductors before disconnecting the existing receptacle.

Incorrect wiring can result in loss of GFCI protection. Installation must comply with applicable electrical codes and should be completed by a qualified electrician.
